Overview
New build Community Hub for the local residents constructed from a Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) structure clad in a mixture of FR timber and aluminium PPC cladding.
Main challenge
Across each elevation there were a number of architectural curves and straights. Complicated interfaces between cladding and CLT. Natural materials and supply chain.
PROJECT GOAL
To create a striking new build community hub that is both usable and inviting and architecturally appealing.
KEY SERVICES
To install timber subframe and FR timber cladding to the external façade of the CLT structure with PPC aluminium cassette panels banding the crown and interfaces at all entry points
Installing: Breather membrane, non-combustible Insulation, timber stud, cement board, breather membrane, timber battens, Fire barriers, Parapet and base system DPC and Russwood Thermopine cladding. Aluminium helping hand brackets rails and PPC aluminium cladding (soffit, Parapet coping, window flashing, and drip flashing).
